South End / Dilworth: New Construction Developments
Connected to Center City by the upcoming light rail and trolley line, Historic South End is just South of Center City and offers a mix of lofts, condos, and townhomes.  Historic South End is seeing another wave of excitement and development with the upcoming light rail line scheduled to begin running through the middle of this area in 2007.  South of "Historic South End" is Dilworth, with a history dating back to the 1890's, quaint tree lined streets, large parks (Freedom and Latta), boutique shopping, and great dining make this area a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of the Center City.

 
Elizabeth / Midtown: New Construction Developments
Located just east of Center City Charlotte, the Elizabeth/Midtown neighborhood stretches along 7th St. just outside of Uptown.  Another great alternative to the action of Uptown offering a mix of bungalow style homes, townhomes, and midrise condos along with a great mix of walkable streets and greenways with unique shopping and dining options.  A lot of new development coming to this area featuring The Metroplitan development, that will offer shopping and dining options as well as a high end amenity packed lofts and condos.

Located 2 miles north of Uptown is the NoDa Arts District.  Short for "North Davidson," this area is Charlotte's little version of New York's SoHo.  With an intentional artsy and bohemian feel,  NoDa hosts some of the area's best art galleries, restaurants, unique shopping, coffee shops, and live music venues.  Be sure to check out the monthly gallery crawls and street festivals.  Here you will find a mix of lofts located among and above the shops of Davidson Street, along with townhomes, bungalow homes, and condos.  Connected to NoDa is Midwood offering a similar vibe and eclectic mix of living and entertainment options.

 
Wesley Heights / West Morehead: New Construction Developments
Just West of the Center City is another up and coming neighborhood called Wesley Heights.  This up and coming area is seeing the revitalization of the bungalow style homes and also the development of several craftsman style townhome projects.  Wesley Heights offers aother area to enjoy tree lined streets and park areas just outside of Uptown.  Connecting the Center City to Wesley Heights and bordering the Carolina Panthers NFL Stadium is the West Morehead corridor that is also seeing urban style condominium development.
